The pairing is equally legible in the East: 山水 paintings have always carried a traveler, and the animals are auspicious — 马 for success arriving at speed (马到成功), 象 for peace and strength (太平有象). As a gift, the horse says “may your journey be fast and triumphant”; the elephant says “may your foundations be unshakable”. The landscape simply carries them forward.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.
The landscape band is hollow-cast with verified wall thickness through every fold; broad faces are hand-planished so the dark patina reads deep and even.

1. Why is the animal gold while the landscape is dark?
Deliberate contrast: the traveler is the story, so it carries the only bright note. The dark landscape gives it scale and drama — the same logic Romantic painters used with light in dark valleys.
2. Is the horse available without the landscape?
We make freestanding horse models too. If you want the animal alone, tell us the pose you prefer and we will suggest models from our animal collection.
3. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
4. What is the MOQ?

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
