Dancer on Horseback – Bronze Sculpture

Hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, 250 × 200 × 1210 mm. A dancer rising from the back of a standing horse in verdigris green, finished with a hand-applied, sealed patina — ideal for hotel lobbies, sales centers and entrance halls.

Product Overview

Model XLA2-51 is built around a single image: a dancer rising from the back of a standing horse in verdigris green. The piece is hollow-cast by the traditional lost-wax method, then patinated and sealed by hand, so a hand-applied green patina sits over crisp, hand-chased detail. At 250 × 200 × 1210 mm, it is designed for lobby floors and large entrance surfaces.

The low, wide silhouette suits coffee tables and sideboards; the dark patina makes the group read as a single sculpture from across the room.

Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on lobby floors and large entrance surfaces, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.

Design Inspiration: Living with Animals

China adds its own beloved scene — the herdboy and his beast — a symbol of the good, simple life, of harmony between people and nature (moreover the ox carries diligence and honest gain). Placed in a study or living room, the sculpture speaks of patience, labor and companionship — a grounded presence in a busy home.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.

Man and animal are cast together as one hollow piece; the internal geometry and the wide animal stance are checked for stability on everyday display surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are the man-and-animal models sold as a set?

Each model — bull, horse, sheep — is sold separately so you can choose the animal that fits the project. They share scale and finish, so a group of two or three reads as one series.

2. Is the rough surface a casting flaw?

No — the texture is intentional, worked into the wax by hand to keep the pastoral, hand-modeled feel. Sealing protects the surface while preserving the character.

3. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

4. What is the MOQ?

We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
