Hillstone No.2 – Blue and Gold Bronze Sculpture

Hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, 460 × 250 × 670 mm, 8.0 kg. A second hillstone pose, crest curling upward with a gold underside, finished with a hand-applied, sealed patina — ideal for living rooms, hotel lounges and reception areas.

Product Overview

Among TYART’s nature bronzes, this piece stands out for the way a blue verdigris patina with gold accents plays over its forms: a second hillstone pose, crest curling upward with a gold underside. The modelling is calm and confident, built from broad planes that catch light along the silhouette. At 460 × 250 × 670 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.

The proportions stay low and wide, which makes them natural anchors behind a sofa, beside a bed, or along a long console where a vertical piece would interrupt the room.

Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on sideboards, consoles and reception counters, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.

Design Inspiration: Mountains, Horizontal

Land art gave the West a new way to look at hills — Robert Smithson and Michael Heizer moved earth itself into art, and suddenly the horizontal landscape became sculpture you could put in a room. This series borrows that scale of thinking: a single sweep of hill, blue-green with verdigris, its ridge crested in gold, curled or hollowed like a landform caught by the wind.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

The piece is produced by the traditional lost-wax method. Wax is modelled from the master, invested in a ceramic shell and burnt out, and molten bronze is poured into the cavity, so the finished casting is a hollow bronze shell rather than a solid block — lighter to handle, easier to place, and true to the way fine bronzes have been made for centuries. After casting, the surface is chased and polished by hand, then patinated in layered tones and sealed.

Hollowed models are verified for wall thickness through the undercuts, and every base is flat-milled so the sweep sits level on furniture.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I use several hillstones together?

Yes — the four models share height and patina language on purpose. A row of three along a long console reads as one continuous range, which is exactly the effect the series was designed for.

2. Why blue-green rather than stone grey?

Verdigris is the color bronze turns in the landscape — it signals real material and age, and it lifts the piece against grey interiors. Gold crests add the sunrise note that keeps the form from going flat.

3. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

4. What is the MOQ?

We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
