Product Overview
The cute pig upside down belongs to TYART’s animal collection: upside-down pig with polished finish, hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method and hand-finished with a hand-applied patina. At 131 × 109 × 151 mm, it is sized for desks, shelves and console tops.
Where the model is a pair or a set, the pigs are posed at slightly different angles and head heights so a shelf of them reads as a family rather than a production line.
Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on desks, shelves and console tops, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.
Design Inspiration: The Universal Lucky Pig
The pig is luck you can hold: the Glücksschwein of Central Europe, given to bring good fortune; the golden piggy bank on every child’s shelf; and the Chinese zodiac sign of plenty and easy contentment. Few subjects make people smile as reliably across cultures. This bronze keeps the roundness and the humor: a plump body, a merry face, and a finish that glows.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.
The belly’s underside is finished as carefully as the top: it is visible on shelves and consoles, so the whole shell is sealed to the same standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does the pig symbolize wealth?
Yes — the pig is a good-luck symbol across cultures: the lucky Glücksschwein of Central Europe, the universal piggy bank, and the Chinese zodiac sign of plenty and contentment. These pieces are popular for shop counters, new homes and business openings.
2. Is it a piggy bank?
No — it is a hollow-cast sculpture for display. There is no coin slot; think of it as the lucky pig itself rather than the bank.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
