Leopard under the Moonlight

Hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, 440 × 200 × 840 mm, 7.6 kg. Leopard climbing beneath a crescent moon, finished with a hand-applied, sealed patina — ideal for hotel lobbies, sales centers and entrance halls.

Product Overview

Model XLA4-67 is built around a single image: leopard climbing beneath a crescent moon. The piece is hollow-cast by the traditional lost-wax method, then patinated and sealed by hand, so a hand-applied patina sits over crisp, hand-chased detail. At 440 × 200 × 840 mm, it is designed for lobby floors and large entrance surfaces.

Proportions follow the real animal: low-set shoulders, a deep chest, and a long counterbalancing tail. Surface detail is restrained — the face, paws and tail-tip carry the fine work, while the flanks stay smooth and sculptural.

The finish is sealed against fingerprints and daily handling. On a lobby floor or large entrance surface, the piece works as a quiet anchor in the room — close enough to touch, solid enough to stay put, and simple to care for with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

Design Inspiration: The Big Cat as an Emblem of Power and Grace

In the West the big cat is the heraldic emblem of courage; in the East it is the guardian of doorways; and in modern design it has become the shorthand luxury brands reach for when they want to say “fast, sleek, assured”. The design borrows from the way the animal actually moves: a low, stretched spine, shoulder blades rolling, the tail used as a counterbalance. Casting that kinetic tension in bronze freezes it without losing it — the sculpture reads as paused, not posed. It is a frequent choice for entrance halls and reception areas where a piece needs to project energy without shouting.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.

The face and paws carry the finest chasing work: whisker pads, claws and eye lines are sharpened by hand under magnification, while the flanks are left broad so the layered patina can shade them naturally.

Lead time depends on size; we confirm it together with the quotation.

Packaging & Delivery

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the big cat modeled from a real animal?

The pose and proportions are drawn from how the animal actually moves — weight distribution, spine line and tail balance follow feline anatomy. The surface treatment, however, is deliberately simplified so the piece reads as sculpture rather than taxidermy.

2. Can the cat be posed differently, for example standing instead of running?

Each model is cast from its own master mold, so the pose shown is the pose supplied. If your project needs a different gesture, we can quote for a modified or commissioned version — send us your scene and requirements.

3. Can I order this piece in a different color?

Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.

4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
