Product Overview
Cast by the traditional lost-wax method and finished entirely by hand, this bronze figure presents a rider draped over his horse in dark patina bronze. a warm brown patina gives the surface its depth, and the simplified planes keep the design readable in modern interiors. At 230 × 190 × 100 mm, it is sized for desks, shelves and console tops.
Man and animal are modeled as one interlocking mass: the human form draped across the animal’s back, edges dissolving into each other. Surfaces stay rough-textured and honest — this series keeps a hand-modeled feel rather than a polished one.
The finish is sealed against fingerprints and daily handling. On a desk, shelf or console top, the piece works as a quiet anchor in the room — close enough to touch, solid enough to stay put, and simple to care for with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Design Inspiration: Living with Animals
The bond between people and animals is one of the oldest subjects in world art — from classical pastoral reliefs to the herdsmen of European bronzes. This series continues it in dark-patina bronze: a man and his animal, bull, horse or sheep, reduced to one resting, interdependent mass. The tone is quiet and universal; no market needs an explanation.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.
The textured surfaces are worked at the wax stage — cloth and fingers, not files — then lightly sealed so the dark patina settles into the texture and the highlights stay soft.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are the man-and-animal models sold as a set?
Each model — bull, horse, sheep — is sold separately so you can choose the animal that fits the project. They share scale and finish, so a group of two or three reads as one series.
2. Is the rough surface a casting flaw?
No — the texture is intentional, worked into the wax by hand to keep the pastoral, hand-modeled feel. Sealing protects the surface while preserving the character.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. What is the MOQ?
We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.
