Flying Apsaras No.1 – Yellow-Green Bronze Sculpture

Hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, 378 × 260 × 903 mm. A yellow-green flying apsaras leaping forward with ribbons aloft, finished with a hand-applied, sealed patina — ideal for living rooms, hotel lounges and reception areas.

Product Overview

Flying Apsaras No.1 – Yellow-Green Bronze Sculpture is a hollow-cast bronze apsaras sculpture with a yellow-green patina. The subject — a yellow-green flying apsaras leaping forward with ribbons aloft — is drawn with clean sculptural planes rather than surface fuss, so the piece reads clearly from across the room and keeps rewarding detail up close. At 378 × 260 × 903 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.

The series reads well in groups: four poses share scale and finish, so a row or cluster of them becomes a small sky over a long console or lobby plinth.

The finish is sealed against fingerprints and daily handling. On a sideboard, console or reception counter, the piece works as a quiet anchor in the room — close enough to touch, solid enough to stay put, and simple to care for with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

Design Inspiration: Yellow-Green Against the Sky

In Chinese homes the flying apsaras carries wishes of uplift — music, celebration, things moving upward. The leap itself is the blessing: progress, momentum, joy. As a gift for openings and anniversaries it says exactly that, in any language.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.

Extended limbs and ribbons are the casting challenge: wall thickness along each arm is verified, every fingertip is dressed by hand, and the yellow-green patina is layered so brightness follows the form’s ridges.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why is this apsaras yellow-green while others in your collection are red or blue?

Different patinas were developed for different interiors — yellow-green for bright, nature-toned palettes; red-brown and blue for heritage moods. The sculpture is the same; the finish is chosen to match the room.

2. Is the leap pose stable on a narrow surface?

Yes. The rock-form base carries the balance point and provides a level footprint; the figure was designed so the visual peak of the leap sits over the base’s center of gravity.

3. Can I order this piece in a different color?

Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.

4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
