Product Overview
The seated guanyin with golden aureole – bronze belongs to TYART’s figure collection: a seated Guanyin framed by a gilded aureole ring, robed in white and green, hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method and hand-finished with a white patina. At 650 × 250 × 1480 mm, it is designed for lobby floors and large entrance surfaces.
The face is the sculpture’s heart: smoothed of anecdote, slightly downcast, finished with care so the expression holds from both across a room and at arm’s length.
The patina is built up in layers and sealed, which means tone varies slightly from piece to piece — the mark of genuine hand finishing rather than a sprayed imitation. On a lobby floor or large entrance surface, it holds its own without competing with the furniture around it, and it needs no more care than an occasional soft-cloth dusting.
Design Inspiration: The Goddess of Mercy
Guanyin is among the few East Asian figures already familiar to Western collectors — the Goddess of Mercy, prized in museums and private collections from Paris to New York, often compared in feeling to the Madonna: serene, compassionate, safe to live with. This model frames her in a gilded aureole, the ring of light that both traditions read instantly as holiness.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.
Robe folds are combed and eased by hand after casting; the two-tone finish (white robe, green sash, gilt ring) is masked and applied in stages so the colors stay clean at their borders.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this sculpture suitable as a religious object or only as decor?
Both. Many customers place Guanyin as a devotional focus; others value her as one of the great figures of world sculpture. The casting and finish are made to the same standard either way, and no blessing ritual is required for display.
2. What does the golden ring behind her mean?
It is the aureole — a halo of light used in both Western and Eastern sacred art to mark a holy figure. In Chinese iconography it frames Guanyin’s compassion; visually it also lifts the whole composition.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
