Product Overview
The desert cactus – speckled verdigris bronze sculpture belongs to TYART’s nature collection: an upright cactus column in speckled blue-green patina on a black base, hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method and hand-finished with a speckled blue-green patina. At 80 × 60 × 300 mm, it is sized for desks, shelves and console tops.
The column rises in gentle undulations — swell and waist, swell and waist — modeled after a mature columnar cactus. The speckled patina alternates blue-green dots over a darker ground, giving texture that reads as spines at a distance.
The patina is built up in layers and sealed, which means tone varies slightly from piece to piece — the mark of genuine hand finishing rather than a sprayed imitation. On a desk, shelf or console top, it holds its own without competing with the furniture around it, and it needs no more care than an occasional soft-cloth dusting.
Design Inspiration: The Plant That Thrives on Less
Desert modernism made the cactus a design icon: sculptural, low-maintenance, unapologetically itself. Architects in Palm Springs and Arizona plant them like living columns, and interior stylists reach for the cactus silhouette whenever a room needs vertical life without fuss. This bronze column keeps the silhouette and loses the maintenance — a speckled blue-green patina does the work of sun and shadow on desert skin.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.
Vertical hollow casting keeps the weight desk-friendly while the base carries ballast, so the column stays sure-footed on narrow surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does the speckled pattern vary between pieces?
Yes — the speckle is hand-worked patina, so every piece has its own constellation. That variation is the point: each cactus is individually finished, never sprayed identical.
2. Is it heavy for a desk?
It is hollow-cast with a weighted base — solid enough to feel like bronze, sized so a standard desk takes it comfortably. Exact weight is listed in the specifications above.
3. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
4. What is the MOQ?
We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
