Deconstruction – Antelope

Hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, 480 × 453 × 730 mm (2 sizes). Deconstructed antelope head in gold and red, two sizes, finished with a hand-applied, sealed patina — ideal for hotel lobbies, sales centers and entrance halls.

Product Overview

Deconstruction – Antelope is a hollow-cast bronze antelope sculpture with a hand-applied patina. The subject — deconstructed antelope head in gold and red — is drawn with clean sculptural planes rather than surface fuss, so the piece reads clearly from across the room and keeps rewarding detail up close. At 480 × 453 × 730 mm (supplied in 2 sizes), it is designed for lobby floors and large entrance surfaces.

Weight sits deliberately low in the composition, with the legs gathered under the body and the head leading the line. Horn detail is where the casting shows its precision: each ridge and curve is cleaned by hand after casting so the spirals stay crisp.

The finish is sealed against fingerprints and daily handling. On a lobby floor or large entrance surface, the piece works as a quiet anchor in the room — close enough to touch, solid enough to stay put, and simple to care for with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

Design Inspiration: Strength, Ambition and the Charge Ahead

The bull is one of the most widely understood symbols in the world: on Wall Street it is the image of a rising market, in Mediterranean tradition it stands for courage, and in the Chinese zodiac it stands for diligence and steadily accumulated wealth. Mountain sheep — argali, ibex and antelope — add the other half of the message: at home on sheer cliffs, they stand for ambition and the confidence to climb. This bronze borrows both languages: mass where the animal is powerful, upward line where it reaches.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.

The horns are cast as part of the body — not attached — which keeps the lines continuous and removes any visible joint; the trade-off is a harder casting, which is why the shells are checked wall by wall before finishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does the bull (or horned sheep) symbolize?

Bulls stand for strength, determination and growth — the familiar “charging bull” image of a rising market — which makes them a favorite for offices and opening gifts. Horned sheep and antelope stand for ambition and the ability to climb, literally and figuratively.

2. Are the horns fragile?

No. The horns are cast integrally with the body as one bronze piece, so there is no joint to work loose. They are bronze through the section — hollow-cast like the rest of the shell — and will flex slightly under impact rather than snapping like resin or ceramic.

3. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

4. What is the MOQ?

We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
