Product Overview
The greyhound belongs to TYART’s animal collection: bronze greyhound in a hotel lobby, hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method and hand-finished with a grey patina. At 680 × 210 × 660 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.
The body is a long double curve — neck into back into tail — with the legs set at a working stance. Surface detail stays minimal; the ribcage and haunch are suggested by broad planes, and the ears and tail carry the fine work.
Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on sideboards, consoles and reception counters, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.
Design Inspiration: The Loyal Companion, Drawn in Line
Hound breeds were drawn for centuries for their line, and that is exactly what bronze does best — the same economy of line that made sighthounds favorites of poster designers and sculptors alike. The design keeps the musculature honest but smooths the surface so the silhouette carries the piece; the head and ears carry the character. As a gift it needs no explanation in any market: everyone knows what a dog stands for.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
The piece is produced by the traditional lost-wax method. Wax is modelled from the master, invested in a ceramic shell and burnt out, and molten bronze is poured into the cavity, so the finished casting is a hollow bronze shell rather than a solid block — lighter to handle, easier to place, and true to the way fine bronzes have been made for centuries. After casting, the surface is chased and polished by hand, then patinated in layered tones and sealed.
The stance is checked on a surface plate after casting — all four feet are trued to contact evenly so the sculpture stands solid on marble, timber or tile.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this a specific breed?
The model follows the sighthound/hound type named in the listing — long legs, deep chest, level topline — rendered as sculpture rather than a portrait of one dog. If you need a specific breed for a project, ask us about commissioned work.
2. Is it suitable for a lobby floor?
Yes — the larger size is designed for floor placement in lobbies and foyers. The casting is weighted low for floor placement and stands stably on hard flooring; we recommend a felt pad under the feet to protect delicate stone surfaces.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. What is the MOQ?
We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.
