Product Overview

The the flying man – bronze figure with open arms belongs to TYART’s figure collection: a figure gliding forward with arms wide open, hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method and hand-finished with a hand-applied green patina. At 335 × 270 × 665 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.

Scale and finish are consistent across the series, so two or three pieces can share a shelf without competing — a small skyline of stories.

The finish is sealed against fingerprints and daily handling. On a sideboard, console or reception counter, the piece works as a quiet anchor in the room — close enough to touch, solid enough to stay put, and simple to care for with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

Design Inspiration: A Small Story in Bronze

Chinese literati display shelves did the same job: small objects, each carrying a scene or a wish, arranged for the pleasure of the eye. These pieces are made for exactly that use — desks, shelves, niches — where a small bronze can hold a small story of freedom, grace or harmony.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.

At small scale, detail lives in the silhouette: each model is refined at the wax stage for readability, and edges are softened by hand so the piece feels carved rather than stamped.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What size are the scene figures?

Most models in this series are compact shelf-scale pieces sized for desks, shelves and niches; exact dimensions for each model are listed on the product page and confirmed with your order.

2. Can several be grouped on one shelf?

Yes — the series shares scale and patina language, so two or three pieces make a coherent shelf composition. Tell us the models you like and we will suggest groupings by height and gesture.

3. Can I order this piece in a different color?

Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.

4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
