Product Overview
The returning leopard belongs to TYART’s animal collection: leopard looking back over its shoulder, hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method and hand-finished with a hand-applied patina. At 510 × 170 × 375 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.
The body is one long arc from nose to tail-tip. Musculature is suggested by broad, rising planes rather than deep carving, so the patina pools in the hollows and brightens on the ridges — light does the modelling. The base is kept low and quiet so the animal’s line stays the story.
Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on sideboards, consoles and reception counters, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.
Design Inspiration: The Big Cat as an Emblem of Power and Grace
From the lions on European coats of arms to the guardian tigers of Asian art, big cats have always meant the same things: power, focus and quiet confidence. This bronze takes the opposite approach to a literal wildlife study: the animal’s gesture is captured at the moment of commitment — weight forward, eyes ahead — and the body is resolved into long, flowing planes. The emphasis falls on rhythm and line rather than fur detail, which is what lets the piece hold its own in a contemporary lobby as well as a collector’s cabinet.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.
The face and paws carry the finest chasing work: whisker pads, claws and eye lines are sharpened by hand under magnification, while the flanks are left broad so the layered patina can shade them naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the big cat modeled from a real animal?
The pose and proportions are drawn from how the animal actually moves — weight distribution, spine line and tail balance follow feline anatomy. The surface treatment, however, is deliberately simplified so the piece reads as sculpture rather than taxidermy.
2. Can the cat be posed differently, for example standing instead of running?
Each model is cast from its own master mold, so the pose shown is the pose supplied. If your project needs a different gesture, we can quote for a modified or commissioned version — send us your scene and requirements.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. What is the MOQ?
