Product Overview
Erhu Lady with Flowing Scarf – Bronze Sculpture is a hollow-cast bronze figure sculpture with a hand-applied green patina. The subject — a green-robed erhu player with an elegant flowing scarf — is drawn with clean sculptural planes rather than surface fuss, so the piece reads clearly from across the room and keeps rewarding detail up close. At 750 × 450 × 1840 mm, it is designed for lobby floors and large entrance surfaces.
The loop also does structural work — it widens the footprint and braces the figure, which lets the pose stay light and extended without losing stability.
The finish is sealed against fingerprints and daily handling. On a lobby floor or large entrance surface, the piece works as a quiet anchor in the room — close enough to touch, solid enough to stay put, and simple to care for with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Design Inspiration: Ribbons in the Air
Western modern dance gave us the image of the dancer wrapped in flying fabric — Isadora Duncan with her scarf, the flowing lines of Art Nouveau. This series translates that image into bronze: a green-robed musician ringed by a great ribbon that loops around her body like a line of music. The ribbon is not decoration; it is the gesture made visible, the movement of the performance held in space.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.
The junctions where ribbon meets base and body are welded, ground and re-patinated by hand — the hardest finishing step on this model, and the reason each piece passes a dedicated seam inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is the ribbon fragile?
No — it is cast bronze as part of the same body, with generous thickness at the curve. The sculpture is finished as one piece and packed with the ribbon braced; normal indoor display poses no risk.
2. What does the ribbon mean?
It stands for movement and music made visible — in Chinese painting terms, ribbons riding the wind. Western visitors usually read it as a dancer’s scarf; both readings are welcome, and neither is wrong.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
