Red Apple and Black Pear – Lacquer Bronze Sculpture

Hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method, 180 × 180 × 660 mm, 3.4 / 4.8 kg. A glossy red apple and a deep black pear standing side by side, each on a slender stem, finished with a hand-applied, sealed patina — ideal for living rooms, hotel lounges and reception areas.

Product Overview

Red Apple and Black Pear – Lacquer Bronze Sculpture is a hollow-cast bronze fruit sculpture with a high-gloss lacquer finish in red and black. The subject — a glossy red apple and a deep black pear standing side by side, each on a slender stem — is drawn with clean sculptural planes rather than surface fuss, so the piece reads clearly from across the room and keeps rewarding detail up close. At 180 × 180 × 660 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.

Each fruit is drawn as a single swelling volume — no carving, no clutter — with a slender arched stem as the only line of action. The lacquer-smooth surface is polished to a deep gloss, so the piece behaves like glazed ceramic but with the weight and coolness of cast bronze.

Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on sideboards, consoles and reception counters, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.

Design Inspiration: The Still Life, Cast in Bronze

European painting has always loved the still life: seventeenth-century Dutch masters arranged fruit on dark tables to celebrate harvest, trade and the sweetness of the ordinary. This series carries that tradition onto the console table — familiar fruits scaled up, simplified into clean sculptural volumes and finished in glossy lacquer tones. On a sideboard or dining table the group reads instantly: nature’s most everyday shapes, treated with the seriousness of fine sculpture.

Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina

Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.

Every stem is cast in one piece with its fruit, then dressed by hand — a thin element like this is exactly where casting quality shows.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the surface really glossy like the photos?

Yes — the lacquer-tone finish is hand-polished to a high gloss and then sealed. It reads like glazed ceramic at a distance, with the cool weight of bronze in the hand.

2. Do the fruits come as a set or singly?

Singly, though the series is designed to group: apple, pear and cherry share proportions and stem language, so two or three together read as one composed still life. Tell us which models you want and we will quote the set.

3. Can I order this piece in a different color?

Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.

4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?

The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.

5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?

Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
