Product Overview
Model XLA1-16 is built around a single image: a golden horse crossing a folded teal landscape of ridges and vales. The piece is hollow-cast by the traditional lost-wax method, then patinated and sealed by hand, so a dark teal patina sits over crisp, hand-chased detail. At 850 × 220 × 360 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.
Each landscape is one continuous ribbon of dark patinated bronze — ridges, folds and valleys modeled in broad planes — ending in a slim black base. The animal is cast separately in polished gold and set where the composition crests, so it appears to move along the ridge line.
The patina is built up in layers and sealed, which means tone varies slightly from piece to piece — the mark of genuine hand finishing rather than a sprayed imitation. On a sideboard, console or reception counter, it holds its own without competing with the furniture around it, and it needs no more care than an occasional soft-cloth dusting.
Design Inspiration: A Journey Across the Mountains
Western painting loved the tiny figure in a huge landscape — a rider on a ridge in a Romantic canvas, scale against the infinite. This series inverts the materials but keeps the drama: the landscape becomes a sweeping band of deep teal or blue bronze, and the traveler becomes a small polished-gold animal — a horse mid-stride, an elephant on a slow crossing. The gold is the only bright note in the composition, and the eye goes straight to it.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.
Gold animals are polished after patination and mounted with a hidden core fix — no visible joints where the rider meets the mountain.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why is the animal gold while the landscape is dark?
Deliberate contrast: the traveler is the story, so it carries the only bright note. The dark landscape gives it scale and drama — the same logic Romantic painters used with light in dark valleys.
2. Is the horse available without the landscape?
We make freestanding horse models too. If you want the animal alone, tell us the pose you prefer and we will suggest models from our animal collection.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. What is the MOQ?
We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
