Product Overview
Leaf and Seed Sprout – Verdigris Bronze Sculpture is a hollow-cast bronze sprout sculpture with a hand-applied green patina. The subject — a curling green shoot with one leaf and one seed rising from a black base — is drawn with clean sculptural planes rather than surface fuss, so the piece reads clearly from across the room and keeps rewarding detail up close. At 300 × 160 × 660 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.
The stem rises from a compact black base and splits into two gestures — a curling leaf and a round seed — balanced so the eye travels up the curve and back down without a dead end. The green patina is deepest in the crevices and lightest on the ridges.
The patina is built up in layers and sealed, which means tone varies slightly from piece to piece — the mark of genuine hand finishing rather than a sprayed imitation. On a sideboard, console or reception counter, it holds its own without competing with the furniture around it, and it needs no more care than an occasional soft-cloth dusting.
Design Inspiration: The First Leaf
In the East, a sprout is a whole philosophy in one image: the Yijing calls it 生生不息 — life regenerating without end. A new leaf on a desk says the same thing to a Chinese client that it says to a Western one: beginnings, momentum, quiet ambition. It is a natural gift for startups, graduations and new ventures.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
The piece is produced by the traditional lost-wax method. Wax is modelled from the master, invested in a ceramic shell and burnt out, and molten bronze is poured into the cavity, so the finished casting is a hollow bronze shell rather than a solid block — lighter to handle, easier to place, and true to the way fine bronzes have been made for centuries. After casting, the surface is chased and polished by hand, then patinated in layered tones and sealed.
Leaf tips are thin by design; wall thickness along the curl is verified and every edge hand-dressed so the green patina wraps the form without thin spots.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does the green patina look artificial?
No — it is a hand-applied verdigris patina, the same chemistry that greens bronze in gardens, just controlled. Sealed after patination, it keeps its tone indoors indefinitely.
2. Is this a good corporate gift?
It is one of our most gifted models: a sprout means new growth in almost every culture. We can engrave a logo or date on the base for gift orders.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
