Product Overview
Model XL23A1-55 is built around a single image: a smooth recumbent abstract body in bronze-red. The piece is hollow-cast by the traditional lost-wax method, then patinated and sealed by hand, so a warm red-brown patina sits over crisp, hand-chased detail. At 533 × 148 × 260 mm, it is sized for desks, shelves and console tops.
The body is one continuous swell — hip rising, shoulder turning, the head resting — with limbs only implied. The long base keeps the composition horizontal and architectural, a deliberate counterweight to the verticals of most interiors.
Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on desks, shelves and console tops, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.
Design Inspiration: The Reclining Form
Chinese scholars prized 卧游 — traveling while lying still, the mind wandering through landscape. A reclining form on a long base carries the same idea: rest as a form of freedom. On a long console or lowboard the sculpture reads like a horizon line for the room.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.
The long plinth base is leveled to tight tolerance so the body’s line stays true; felt pads are fitted for stone and timber surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why three color versions of the same form?
The reclining body is about line and light; color sets the mood. Bronze-red warms classic interiors, the black-and-white effect suits graphic modern rooms, and verdigris green adds the depth of aged bronze — one form, three interiors.
2. Does the polished surface show fingerprints?
The surface is sealed after patination, which resists fingerprints and handling marks; a dry cloth restores the sheen. For heavily touched locations we recommend the sealed matte spots as shipped — contact us for advice.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. What is the MOQ?
We work with both single-piece orders and bulk project orders. Contact us with your quantity and destination port for an accurate quotation and lead time.
