Product Overview
Among TYART’s animal bronzes, this songbird stands out for the way a hand-applied patina plays over its forms: bronze shorebird with upturned beak. The modelling is calm and confident, built from broad planes that catch light along the silhouette. At 480 × 150 × 430 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.
Where leaves are used they are cast thin with softly rolled edges; where fruit is used it is polished as a bright accent. Both are kept sparse — the design is a sketch in bronze, not a still life.
Because every surface is patinated by hand before sealing, the finish has depth: brighter where the forms rise, deeper in the hollows. Placed on sideboards, consoles and reception counters, the sculpture reads as a lived-in bronze object rather than a plated ornament, and it keeps its tone with nothing more than routine dusting.
Design Inspiration: Birds, Branches and Good News
Small birds carry big meanings: joy, spring, messages arriving, the promise that the garden is alive. The design respects the scale of the subject — fine legs, a neat head, feathers suggested rather than counted — and lets the branch give the composition its line.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Every sculpture is hollow-cast in bronze by the traditional lost-wax method: a wax model is taken from the original master, encased in a ceramic shell, burnt out and replaced with molten bronze. The raw casting is cleaned, welded and refined entirely by hand before the patina is applied layer by layer and sealed. Because the patina is finished by hand, each piece varies slightly in tone and depth — a mark of genuine cast bronze rather than a sprayed imitation.
Legs and branch contact points are the fine work: each toe is cleaned by hand after casting and seated precisely on the branch so the bird looks settled, not stuck on.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What do birds symbolize on a branch?
Good news and joy — in Chinese tradition birds arriving on a branch signal happy words on the way, and Western tradition reads the songbird as spring and homecoming. Fruiting branches add wishes of abundance. The subject suits studies, living rooms and entrances.
2. Is the bird fixed to the branch?
Yes. Bird, branch and leaves are cast and assembled as one sculpture; the joints are welded and dressed so the composition is a single piece that handles safely.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. How is the sculpture packed for shipping?
Each piece is wrapped in protective foam and packed in a reinforced export carton; larger pieces travel in a foam-lined wooden crate. Wooden crates are standard for project shipments.
