Product Overview
Model XL19A2-51 is built around a single image: a low sweeping hill of blue verdigris bronze with gold-capped ridges. The piece is hollow-cast by the traditional lost-wax method, then patinated and sealed by hand, so a blue verdigris patina with gold accents sits over crisp, hand-chased detail. At 1000 × 250 × 400 mm, it is sized for sideboards, consoles and reception counters.
The proportions stay low and wide, which makes them natural anchors behind a sofa, beside a bed, or along a long console where a vertical piece would interrupt the room.
The patina is built up in layers and sealed, which means tone varies slightly from piece to piece — the mark of genuine hand finishing rather than a sprayed imitation. On a sideboard, console or reception counter, it holds its own without competing with the furniture around it, and it needs no more care than an occasional soft-cloth dusting.
Design Inspiration: Mountains, Horizontal
Land art gave the West a new way to look at hills — Robert Smithson and Michael Heizer moved earth itself into art, and suddenly the horizontal landscape became sculpture you could put in a room. This series borrows that scale of thinking: a single sweep of hill, blue-green with verdigris, its ridge crested in gold, curled or hollowed like a landform caught by the wind.
Craftsmanship: Lost-Wax Casting and Hand Patina
Casting begins with the original master model. A wax copy is coated in ceramic, fired, and replaced with molten bronze in the lost-wax method our foundry has used for years. The hollow-cast bronze is then fettled and finished by hand — seams removed, detail sharpened, surface evened — before the patina is built up in successive washes and sealed to protect the tone. Small variations between pieces are the signature of hand finishing, not a defect.
The blue verdigris is layered over a darker ground and hand-rubbed on the ridges before sealing; gold crests are polished separately so the two finishes stay crisp against each other.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I use several hillstones together?
Yes — the four models share height and patina language on purpose. A row of three along a long console reads as one continuous range, which is exactly the effect the series was designed for.
2. Why blue-green rather than stone grey?
Verdigris is the color bronze turns in the landscape — it signals real material and age, and it lifts the piece against grey interiors. Gold crests add the sunrise note that keeps the form from going flat.
3. Can I order this piece in a different color?
Yes. The finish shown is the standard patina of this model, but the same sculpture can be produced in other tones — warm brown, antique gold, verdigris green or a custom two-tone patina. Hand patina is our standard process, so an alternative finish does not significantly affect lead time.
4. Is each sculpture exactly the same?
The casting comes from the same mold, so the form is consistent. The patina, however, is applied by hand, which means slight variations in tone between individual pieces — a normal characteristic of genuine cast bronze.
5. What is the MOQ?
